Group 10 Capital Management, LLC is an opportunistic investment company that was established to further the entrepreneurial investment activities of its principals. Group 10 manages a series of investment partnerships on behalf of institutional and individual investors.  Group 10 focuses on alternative investments in its areas of expertise: direct lending, real estate,  equities, and medical. For each investment opportunity, Group 10 structures specific platforms tailored to reflect the return expectations, risk tolerances and liquidity preferences of its investors and partners. Our team is experienced in these niche, targeted alternatives and we therefore strive to leverage our knowledge , relationships, and expertise in these specific areas.

Investment Philosophy

We look at the worst case scenario first, and then decide how we go from there.

While most look at only the upside, we take a backward approach determining what the present situation is, and if we invest time, capital and resources what is the worst case if everything goes wrong, before we determine the upside if everything goes to plan. Group 10 takes a bottom up approach focused on mitigating risk first, while simultaneously generating value.

We emphasis a deep rooted belief that in any given situation it needs to be a win-win for all parties involved, as we take pride in our long term relationships.

David Halabu

Managing Partner

Started his career as a trader at Broadway Trading in NYC.  In 2001, he moved to Miami to head the trading desk for Assent LLC (division of Sungard Data Systems) in South Florida.  David is a serial investor in many alternatives such as real estate, distressed debt (public & private),  proprietary trading system & medical related businesses.

He co-founded Group 10 in 2011 to invest in non performing real estate debt., Group 10 has evolved into having separate divisions for private lending, fix and flip, commercial value add, and residential rentals.

Graduate Tulane University. Member of EO Accelerator  & Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA)

Resides in Miami Beach with wife and 3 children.

Samuel Soriero

Managing Partner

Samuel Soriero directs the firm’s origination, acquisition and underwriting activities for various loan and real estate opportunities. Prior to founding Group 10, Mr. Soriero served in several fixed income capacities at Goldman Sachs in New York City including time spent on the senior bank debt, conduit, and whole loan trading desks. Mr. Soriero was also previously with Ashley Capital, one of the largest privately held real estate investment groups in the United States. While at Ashley Capital, Mr. Soriero performed the financial analysis required for the acquisition of under-performing real estate assets through traditional purchases and securitized debt acquisitions. During the economic downturn, Mr. Soriero acted as lead analyst in securing workout arrangements for over $200M in distressed loans which encumbered the firm’s portfolio.

Mr. Soriero participates in a variety of community and charitable organizations throughout South Florida. He also holds an active Florida Real Estate License and is a member of the National Association of Realtors and is a licensed lender in the state of Florida.
